Hardware changes aside, there is never any reason that I
should be forced to reboot my routers or NASes.

one of my cisco boxes has been up for 120 days,
and that would have been almost 300 days except for a UPS failure.
during that time I have made more configuration changes than
I can possibly imagine, including turning OSPF off,
completely rearranging the way the box handles
redistribution of static and RIP into OSPF,
and then turning OSPF back on again,
and _NEVER_ did any of them require me to reboot.

If it takes "building a case" to get the priority on this raised,
then let them know that this isn't just a technical issue,
this is a business issue...

When it's bad for my business to have to kick user's off to reboot,
or worse when the things crash and reboot on their own,
then guaranteed, it is going to be bad for Ascend's business too,
their future business that is.
