Re: (ASCEND) APEX Rapid Transit modem

The exact same thing has happened to me, I have family that lives
next door, Luckily, I'm the one that K56 works, I have approximately 10 K56
modems at my house, Each one works in my house and I get approximately 40-48K
connections. (EACH 56K modem I took over to his house wouldn't even
connect at 56K, It would make an initial connection then just scroll
garbage.) If I disabled K56 emulation the modem would sync just fine
with V.34 speeds. It's has to have something to do with wiring, or static
on the line) But then again Bell only guarantee a 9600 Baud connection if
I called them up and told them I was unable to obtain a 56K connection
they probably would laugh and hang up on me, Then I'd have to go bomb the
CO or something :)
