Well, on my machine, Java applets running through Netscape will leak
memory very quickly and cause my RAM and swap to fill up in a matter of
minutes. I'm thinking that a solution to much of your problem would be
to increase the amount of swap space you have. With a 64MB system
running RedHat and X, it is best to have 128MB of swap and maybe more.
I believe it is possible to run a swap through a loopback device (a
'virtual' partition stored in a file) if you cannot enlarge any of your
swap partition(s).
I could instruct you on how to do this, but there is probably some
better information on the Internet somewhere..
