Re: (ASCEND) IP/IPX with Pipeline 50

Hello,

Yes you can setup IPX static routes with the 3 Pipes as you describe. We
have a similar situation where 2 branch offices connect to the main
office and one of the branches connects to a Novell server at the other
branch.

In the connection profile menu Route IPX is right under Route IP and IPX
options is just under IP options.

Also under the main edit menu configuration screen be sure to enable IP
and IPX there under the Route setting.

In the termserv you can type comands and find netware information after
IPX is enabled.

ascend% show netware ?
show netw ? Display help information
show netw stats Display NetWare IPX Statistics
show netw networks Display NetWare IPX Networks
show netw servers Display NetWare IPX Servers
show netw pings Display NetWare IPX Ping Stats

It's not really too involved just be sure to know the netware network
numbers and be aware of the servers internal network # and node for the
static routes.

There are some specific instructions if you have a manual or can get to
the Lucent / esight.com support information - currently I can't access
the support site as they are apparently having problems with their
system - they keep losing my password and can't create another user
because blah blah. - maybe someday.

You may be able to call support and have them fax you the document -
several years but Ascend had a document called.

"IPX Routing Configuration Tech Note" - used to be at
www.ascend.com/731.html

and "Concise Guide to IPX Routing with Ascend products".

I have them on paper and can fax them to you if you would like them.

Good luck,
