Here's my limited knowledge of IDSL:
It can work w/ any pipeline equipment that has an IDSL switch_type option.
Max throughput is 144kbps. It's kinda like a leased line, ie. always on.
I guess because it's not switched, there's no need for the D channel. That
extra bandwidth can be used to move data. You gain 16kbps. (wow, instead
of 16K/s you get 18K/s, woo hoo :)
As for upgrading to other xDSL's. don't know about that. Doesn't that
require specialized equipment? I doubt very seriously you can hack a
Pipeline to move data at ADSL speeds.. (+4Mbs)
