I just thought I'd share my experience with Quiescing 6.1.3, NI-1,
DMS 100, NFAS, since I tried it for the first time last night.

When I set the line to Quiesced, all the channels immediately went to
state "m" and then to state "o". Sometimes it happens quickly enough
that the "m" never actually shows up and it goes straight to "o".

At that point, calls began correctly hunting to the next Max.

When a call dropped, its channel went from "*" to "o". However, at
that point hunting stopped working. If you dialed the phone number,
you would get ring forever, and "Far End Hung Up - Cause code 16"
in the Max error log.

The workaround was to reactivate the lines, then immediately set them
back to Quiesced (hoping you did it quickly enough to avoid having a
call come in in the short time while the line was active again).

This caused the hunting to work again -- until the next call dropped.
Then I'd have to do it again.

So, basically, the feature worked for me -- if I was willing to stare
at the Max and do the set/reset thing each time a call dropped.

(In reality, I got fed up after 35 minutes, and just flushed the
remaining dozen or so users at 2:30am)

There's one curious thing: When I set the lines to Quiesced, the first
line's status changed from "L1/LA" to "L1/LM", but the second line
stayed at "L2/LA" despite the fact that it's channels did go out of
service.
