Re: (ASCEND) V.90 Back channel
The Maximum back channel speed is 31,200. http://x2.usr.com just to see
a disclaimer that USR has for this.
Although Europeans do not have the FCC restriction, they do have a
Standards restriction. The Amercian MFG's like Ascend, Lucent, and 3COM
would not have ratified the Standard unless if was Global. They would
have to create 2 sets of Code and support would be double, etc. So the
crux of the issue is that international providers do not have FCC like
limitations, but ultimately it is an indirect way of having the FCC
control when the MFG's will only support what the FCC limits, in the V.90
Standard.
