Yes, on Ciscos ;->

Seriously: No Ascend doesn't have such thing. And to say it honestly, it
should not be implemented there, either. When it comes to crude hacks with
IP this is one of the more remarkable ones. BTW, AFAIK Ciscos do not re-
direct the host:80 to cache:8080 but just do policy based routing in that
they route packets destined for host:80 to cache. Cache has then to handle
those packets correctly, meaning it has to run something at the L2/L3
border to intercept these packets and feed the proxy software with it.
This is usually called a "transparent proxy" feature (and actually the
location of the real hack). Ciscos just help it by forcing packets to go
there even if they don't want to. If it comes to Ascend probably 99% of
the members of this list would be more interested in Ascend fixing the
flaws left in the current code for "normal" routing before they start
to implement esoteric routing features like that. Then again, maybe not.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
