You definitely want to go with routing, so don't try to use Pipe 25s. You
can route AppleTalk _and_ IP over the same link with Pipelines (or Maxen)
with the AppleTalk load. It works great.

Basically, each Pipe has a profile to the other that routes AppleTalk (and
IP, if you like) to the other. If either need an IP link, say to an ISP,
just make a second profile routing IP as usual. The manual actually has a
very clear explanation of AppleTalk routing that doesn't assume or require
that you know squat about Macs. If you have detail questions feel free to
ask me.
The only thing you lose with the AppleTalk load is IPX on a Pipeline. If
you're using Maxen, you lose OSPF, which is a a major drag for me.
