Re: (ASCEND) V.90 Question

There are definate problems with the new V.90 code dropping connections.
Many of these can be fixed by tweaking the client side modem, but
personally (we're running a bare-bones analog only setup) I'm finding that
after a certain amount of time (usually a day or two) my boxes start
dropping all connections almost immediately (5-10 seconds) after teh NAS
assigns an IP address to the session. Some will stay on for a few
minutes, but inevitably get dropped. When this starts happening, even
those who could stay connected indefinately cannot establish and maintain
a connection for more than 10-20 seconds. I still haven't even found any
clues as to what is causing this, so if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to
hear them.

I've also seen a few posts regarding the same issue from several different
people using the 4004's, and 4048's. The TNT's seem to be fine, which
leads me to believe this is definately an issue with the code for the 4000
series, although I think I saw a sinilar complaint from someone using a
2012 earlier today.

If anyone else out there is having this problem, please let me know if
you'd like to trade notes/theory's/stabs-in-the-dark, etc......

All of our troubles began after loading 6.1 on our Max 4004's.
