(ASCEND) modem over BRI?
Once again, I've inherited the administration of a Max 4K. This time, I
have an 8 port BRI card which has all ports populated. There are also 2
8MOD modem cards in the unit. It's running 5.0ap5 (I know, I know... I'm
getting to it).
The first problem I'm having is that I want some calls to be answered by
the modems even though they're coming in from the BRI lines. I want the
first 4 BRI lines to serve as modem lines, and the second set of BRI lines
to serve as ISDN MPP lines. I've got the MPP connects up just fine. They're
humming away. But whenever I call the first set, I get the high pitched
whine of a digital call instead of my modems answering.
Since I haven't been around one of these things for a few months, I'm kinda
lost as to what to check first. I've gone through all the stupid stuff
(connection profile has PPP active, numbers are correct, PPP is active in
the answer profile, etc) but still can't get a connect. What gives?
btw, all the users dialing in will be using DUN for Win95. Any special
gotchas to look out for?
TIA,
Scott Kozicki
