Wordperfect 6.0 and up for all OS's uses the same file format. The new
features in 7 and 8 are setup such that they open fine in wp6, but the new
features is missing. This means that 98% of the time when you make a doc
in wp8 (linux, win95, whatever) it is readable to wp6 and 7 and should be
easily importable into word. (Word on the other hand changes thier file
format with every version).
