solid state disks. cheap!
www.sandiskstore.com... 32MB 3.5" solid-state IDE drives for only $125.
looks pretty good to me. :)
my thought was to use one to hold the /boot partition of an
otherwise-RAIDed machine.
sure, it's not *necessary*, nor is it as cheap as a spinning disk;
but it's amusing nonetheless. :)
should be a lot more reliable than a spinning HDD; and there's still
enough space on there for a BBC-type set of rescue utilities. (how would you
set up a BBC image as one of your LILO boot options? hmmm....)
