actually, to a certain extent you can. however, they can't work on a
table another user is accessing. (AFAIK... I'm not sure of all the specifics)
the frightening thing is, I believe you can have multiple users
editing the same query simultaneously. (I believe I have done this).

speaking of bastardization; am I correct in that a BETWEEN statement
in ANSI SQL (as in BETWEEN <value> AND <value>) should be non-inclusive? I
seem to remember that from my dbase course in college. Access, on the other
hand, makes BETWEEN inclusive of the two specified values. (which is
semantically wrong, IMHO).
of course, the only dbase I've ever mongered to any degree is
Access; so my experience is limited.
