And once the computer went, they had to scramble and pull the
manuals/tables/etc. That hadn't been used regurally in 20 years. Delay 1.
Then everything had to be calculated. Delay 2. After the computer did the
calculations, it sent the results directly to the cockpit where it was
printed out. Without the computer, the calculations had to be radioed to the
cockpits. Delay 3. Considering their dependance on one off site system,
Norwest did rather well.
