Out of curiosity, what's so bad about Zip drives?

I hate tapes. I had a nice DAT drive once, but it died. The
replacement also died, in exactly the same way. It's so time consuming
to do anything with a tape that it's a major annoyance.
Of course, maybe dds3 isn't a tape and I'm making stupid
assumptions. :-)
