DAT is not good tape.  Tape is not elegant, and it has <ICK!> moving
parts, but is the only worthwhile solution when you've got really big
amounts of data.  I love my Exabyte -- especially since I have cron play
with it most of the time.

The old comparison that used to be thrown about at DEC in the early 70's
was to judge whether any suggested substitue beat the bandwidth of a
"magtape and a pickup truck."  Latency is high, but for sheer bits from
point to point...<g>
