Re: (ASCEND) Ascend Max T1 and FR backup

I have been using Maxen sin '96 and know about the lack of CPU horsepower
in the 4xxx's as well as the potential power supply problems. I have one Max
that is used for analog dial-up only--it has 6 12-mod cards and 3 CT1's with
no throughput problem. I have another at a remote pop with with 2 CT1's and
FR running off the WAN port (external CSU/DSU) backhauling the traffic to
our main pop, again no thoughput problems. My experience has been with
analog dial-up and I have not seen any throughput problems. I am sure a box
with 3 or 4 PRI's doing mostly digital calls would be a different story.
