(ASCEND) X.21 Connection over SerialWan on Max4000
Hi,
we have a problem with our Max4000 connecting to the NET over a 2MBit leased
line with a X.21 port. We bought a Ascend cable MXHP-X21 to connect the
serial wan of the Max4000 to the X.21 interface of the WAN.
We are migrating from a leased 64kBit BRI to a 2 MBit X.21 leased line.
There were no changes to the network environment except for the leased line
configuration. So the connection profile should be working as soon as I
change the "Nailed Group" parameter in the profile to the value configured
in the serial WAN interface.
The Max starts dialing and sending PPP open frames (I can see them wen going
into debug mode with wanopen). but doesn't get a connection.
When I disconnect the cable to the DCE the port leads (DSR and DCD)in the
Serial Wan status menu change back to minus. As soon as I connect the to
again they change back to plus. But there is no variation in the Port Leads
when trying to send some data over the Serial Wan port.
On the other side there is a Cisco device (said to be working properly). The
leased line provider also guaranties the line to be working.
Am I missing something? Do we have the right cable (our distributor told us
we do)? Is there a way to figure out if there is a connection between the
MAX and the DCE? Did anyone have the same problems and solved them??
HELP!!
