Could you explain what problems you are seeing with the shared profiles
option?
I turned the feature off on the max (Shared Prof=No) and put the
following line in the radius profiles of those users that are supposed
to have shared profiles:

Ascend-Shared-Profile-Enable = Shared-Profile-Yes

It definitely works for us (Max4000, 5.0Ap42), users without the
radius entry can only log in once (and vice versa).
