(ASCEND) 2.0b3 for the MAX TNT




The 2.0b3 beta release for MAX TNT is now available to registered users on
www.ascend.com.  The user will see a link to the Beta Agreement Form from
their logon confirmation screen.  The agreement starts at:

http://www.ascend.com/private/beta

If the user accepts the agreement they are taken to an index page with
links to all of the available images.

The 2.0b3 beta release for the MAX TNT contains the following enhancements
and corrections:

Enhancements:

* New PCMCIA flash format
* Nailed connections supported via IDSL
* Frame-Relay circuit switching on ADSL and SDSL cards
* Performance enhancements for TCP-Clear calls
* Change in ASE route handling for NSSA configurations
* Local DNS table
* Home agent inactivity timers for ATMP tunnels
* Netstat reports TCP statistics collected from slot cards
* Shelf-controller proxy RADIUS accounting
* SNMP advanced.mib now supported
* DTPT sessions to the ZGR identified in Session MIB
* Multishelf traps enabled by default
* Slave shelves generate trap when multishelf link is down
* NAS port identifier optionally reported in new format
* Syslog output optionally reported in new format

Corrections:

* TR 2309: Host and time information was not generated for TCP-Clear sessions.
* TR 2362: SNMP MIB variable did not report slave shelf serial number.
* TR 2398: Warning messages 175,106, or145, and FE2 with IPX MP+ calls.
* TR 2473: MAX TNT did not grab all outgoing routes and profiles from RADIUS.
* TR 2666: After 7 to 24 hours, E1 channels using R2 signaling became *
inoperative.
* TR 2711: OSPF could cause FE 29 on the shelf-controller..
* TR 2732: FE 1s were sometimes observed on the shelf-controller..
* TR 2736: Modem card reported WANSESS: newSession: Out of Sessions.
* TR 2794: Additional information provided about SNMP-initiated transfers.
* TR 2835: CLID-authenticated sessions could ignore profile information.
* TR 2841: Modem transmit level incorrect for K56 modems.
* TR 2843: End-of-packet character did not work properly for TCP-Clear calls.
* TR 2897: Invalid emergency log message seen on console.
* TR 2939: Multicast address exported via SNMP caused a problem with HP *
OpenView.
* TR 2969: Call connect rate could degrade under heavy call volume.
* TR 2972: Encapsulation method was not enforced in local Connection profile.
* TR 2983: Ethernet card could reset without generating a fatal log message.
* TR 3015: Second channel of an MP+ call could dial the wrong number.
* TR 3023: FE 36 was observed when MP calls spanned multiple HDLC cards.
* TR 250117: Call-Filters in Connection profiles did not prevent dialout.
* N/A Slave shelves did not log RESET to master's fatal log.
* N/A Heavy, continuous IPXPING traffic could cause FE2.
* N/A Unsupported protocols were not explicitly rejected for dial-in clients.
* N/A IGMP query packets could keep an idle connection alive.
* N/A PPP clients could fail to reconnect after an ADSL or SDSL line came
back up.
* N/A Problems with more than nine SDSL cards.
* N/A Unable to Set the slotmdmItemConfig variable in Slot Modem table.

* N/A ATMP Home-Network-Name parameter did not accept uppercase characters.

* N/A IPX-Route profile names were case-sensitive.

* N/A Slot cards could take several minutes to come up in a loaded

* N/A MAX TNT didn't handle some loop situations properly in OSPF environment.
* N/A Dialout for 56K modems sometimes failed.
* N/A OSPF MIB was not enabled in earlier 2.0 releases.

* N/A OSPF Database command output did not show ASE Type-5 entries.
* N/A OSPF Database command caused FE 1 or FE 29 when NSSA was enabled.

packets.

* N/A Frame Relay circuit interfaces were not made inactive when profile
disabled.
* N/A Send-Auth-Mode parameter accepted illegal values.
* N/A Remote-Address and Local-Address accepted illegal values.
* N/A SuperDigital 128 over nailed IDSL connections did not work properly.
* N/A Trunk-Group parameter accepted illegal values.
* N/A RTMP advertisements were not sent unless Hint-Zone was specified.
* N/A ARA password was not visible unless debug permissions were enabled.
* N/A Added virtual devices to the IDSL module to support Frame Relay.
* N/A Memory leak could occur during CLID authentication to RADIUS.
* N/A Memory leak could occur for incoming modem calls.

* N/A AppleTalk router did not start up properly.
