(ASCEND) ethernet port problems
I reposted this with the right subject this time...
I have a problem with ethernet ports on some of my Pipelines. I was
wondering
if anyone else here has seen this.
Our network has about 750 pipelines in it. These are p130, adsl, and
sdsl
pipelines, with about equal numbers of each. On about a dozen or so, we
are
having a problem with the ethernet port failing where it will still xmit
but
will not recieve. This is indicated by watching the ether stats when
telneted
to the pipe. If you reset the pipe, all is good. The p130s we have are
not
affected so far. We are running 7.0.4 code on the sdsl and adsl pipes
and
6.1.42 on the p130s. This kind of indicates that there is a code issue
possibly, but not for sure. Ascend tells me that the pipes may have
problems
with some 10/100 hubs or switches because of the hub being flaky on the
auto
negotioation. I have surveyed what these things are plugged into and
found a
mix of equipment, both 10 and 10/100, all with really nothing in common.
If any of you have had problems with the ethernet port on these
Pipelines
freaking out when being plugged into certain equip, please let me know.
Any
info on what equipment was involved would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
