(ASCEND) P130/ISDN WAN Woes
I am relativly new to the poorly documented world od P13o's and the
concept of Bridging 2 networks together... (I have worked with The p50,
and p75, doinf ISP dial-up)
Anyways... lemme explain the scenario, and why/what I need help with.
I am trying to connect 2 offices of the company I work for, via a P130 at
each office, on an ISDN line... This connection will essentially be nail
for 16-20 hours a day.....
Ofice one has a P50 (198.168.2.1) With a 24/7 Connection to the Internet
The P130 at office one is using Ip addr. (198.168.2.9)
We have the entire class C range of (198.168.2.0-255 (Actually we have a
valid range.. that I'd rahter not publish.. etc..))
anyways, I am assuming that I'll have to subnet the addresses into 2 equal
parts ( 198.168.2.1-126/25 and 198.168.2.129-254/24
Oh yeah.. One office is n chicago, and antoehr is in houston.
essentially,,, I want it that when ever Houston (or Chicago) make s a
request for data off of the others network, the P130 will dial into the
other. Also, since Houston has not dedicated Net.access line... I want to
also have their Net browsing going thru the WAN link also.... I am
assuming this is all possible.. but I am atuck at a point as how to set
this all up.... Do I need one profile on each end? What Do I need to
specify as the Gateways/Dns/etc?
Help?
Here's some more releavant (hopefully) info:
Chicago:
Ip Range used 198.168.2.1-126
Gateway/Router to the Net Ip: 198.168.2.1
DNS: 192.160.127.125 192.160.127.90 (offsite, run by our ISP)
Subnet mask (current) 255.255.255.0
P130 for WAN: 198.168.2.9
Wins/DHCP server addrys' 198.168.2.3 198.168.2.4
All hosts are windows NT 4.0
Houston:
IP range used: 198.168.2.129-254/25
P130 for WAN: 198.168.2.130/25
NO DNS

All hosts have static addresses

If anyone can help with IP routing I would greatly appreciate it, and
possibly might be able to pay them some small amount.
Thank you VERY VERY much for your time.
