Re: (ASCEND) Dead Air?
We get this occasionally and we do not have an answer either. Sometimes it
appears to be related to the remote (PC side) where the modem drivers
become corrupt or just installed wrong and sometimes it appears to be
related to bad phone lines. When the modem negotiates and negotiates and
negotiates... each time stepping down to a slower speed and finally just
giving up the ghost with this message.

No, but I have been getting an unusually large number of customers
complaining about a "Computer you are dialing is not answering" message
(even though it is actually answering). Haven't tracked it down to
anything specific yet, but rebooting the Max seemed to help a little at
least. Anyone else ever see this?
