RE: (ASCEND) shared D-Channels on PRI
Regards use of D-channel backup with NFAS:
I saw a couple of postings indicating that loss of the D-channel with NFAS
would bring down all the PRIs in that "group" (pardon possible lack of
correct terminology there)
We have 4 PRIs in our NFAS "group" on each of our MAX 4000s
24th channel on PRI1 is set to NFAS-PRIME
24th channel on PRI4 is set to NFAS-SECOND
This leaves us 94 (24 * 4 - 2)channels for calls. If PRI1 (or its
D-channel) is lost, signalling switches to 24th channel on PRI4.
Works as intended.
