(ASCEND) multilink ppp/windows98/maxtnt
I'm trying to get multi-link ppp (mp) working using a plain windows 98
client on my maxtnt box. The first line negotiates fine using MP, but when
I try the second, it connects for a brief few seconds, looks as if it is
adding the connect rates together, and then the second session drops back
off again. This brief addition of the connection rates happens on both the
windows 98 side and max side. In the status window of the maxtnt it
momentarily adds the two connect rates together and shows a connection like
80284 for a connect speed, then immediately drops back to 33600 or whatever.
For the second session, the max records a disconnect cause 2, progress 65,
but the radiusd in debug mode shows this:
request: Ascend-Multilink-ID = 3
request: Ascend-Num-In-Multilink = 1
Oct 5 12:10:28.613 radiusd[6477] Received unknown attribute 51
Oct 5 12:10:28.614 radiusd[6477] Received unknown attribute 50
request: Ascend-Modem-PortNo = 30
request: Ascend-Modem-SlotNo = 10
request: Ascend-Modem-ShelfNo = 1
request: Client-Port-DNIS = "5555555"
request: Framed-Protocol = PPP
request: Framed-Address = 0.0.0.0
I changed my real number to 5555555, but nothing else. I find the 0.0.0.0
address is curious. The first session stays the same.
This happens in both the start record and stop record, except the 0.0.0.0
address only appears in the second session's records. I'm not sure this
unknown attribute has anything to do with my second session disconnects, but
since it appears only when it is transfering replies that affect the
multi-link I suspect they are related.
Out of the 15 or so tries I've done, only once has it worked and maintained
a connection. I got a 56K and a 31.2K and downloaded a .zip file at 6.9k/s.
I'm using Ascend's radiusd, or ascendd if you like, altered slightly to do
KERBEROS V authentication.
