Re: (ASCEND) Need Help: AT&T Keep-In-Touch Modem on Cell Phone



We once had a customer who insisted on a MNP10-EC connection and the only
way we could get it to happen was by modifying the 2nd modem string the Max
answers with. The key was adding ")M2". Strangely it only worked if that was
in the 2nd string and it caused the connect ratio to deteriorate. For all
Ascends claims of supporting cellular they don't - unless you modify the
init strings. We tested this on several versions up to ap36 which we are
pretty happy with. The connect rates were 9600 98% of the time with the odd
14400.
