I used to have this problem on a 1800 deployed in a town that only offered
BRI isdn support.  It's connected to a 5ESS.  I guess it was around 5.0Ap38
the problem went away from me.  Used to take reboots almost daily to get
rid of the r's or to get the channel back to "D" versus "M".

I put 6.0.0 in my 1800 almost 2 days ago:

reliant:~$ sh up
system uptime: up 1 days, 17 hours, 22 minutes, 31 seconds

and it's running like a champ - hasn't done it yet.
