(ASCEND) 2 Class C's on same Max ?

Here's an interesting dilemma..

Situtation:
===========
Two class C's on one Ethernet LAN and a Max 4048 running 6.1.0

207.220.250.0 and 207.220.251.0

Cisco Router IP: 207.220.250.254
 MAX IP address: 207.220.251.5

   IP Pool: 207.220.250.6
Pool Count: 47

Okay, I can ping any host on our network 207.220.251.*, but I CANNOT reach
our other class C, which is 207.220.250.* (including the Cisco Router).

It's probably because "show ip route" does not show 207.220.250.* going out
of ie0, instead it shows it going out WANIDLE, which generally means that
it doesn't know which interface to use to find the second Class C.

Here is my solution that might be working only because of a bug or ..?
------------------------------------------------
Ethernet ->Mod Config->Ether Options->2nd Adrs->

Then I add: 207.220.250.0/24 and push ESC and do "Save and Apply Changes"

Then I do this:

Ethernet ->Mod Config->Ether Options->2nd Adrs->

Then I remove 207.220.250.0/24 and push ESC and do "Save and Apply Changes"

--- The result ? ---

I can now ping any host on 207.220.250.* and also 207.220.251.* because in
"show ip route", I can now see that the other Class C (207.220.250.0) has
changed from WANIDLE to ie0 -- which is what it should be.

It sounds terribly confusing, but hopefully Kevin or Matt will understand
this and be able to answer my next question:

Q: How do I permanently "activate" this feature without having to do this
bug-like method?

The reason I am asking, is because whenever I reset the Max, I have to go
and re-do this thing in Ethernet ->Mod Config->Ether Options->2nd Adrs->
everytime.

Hopefully this long-winded post is understood and can spawn an answer. :)

P.S. I call it a bug -- because I don't understand why it works -- and I
need to find a proper way of achieving the same result.
