Re: (ASCEND) Connection problems with K56 cards
We had the same problems here at Fuse. However, all of the sudden
disconnect problems have gone away since we established a
V.34 ONLY modem pool. This is a pool of modems that we WILL NOT
upgrade to K56Flex, until Lucent/Rockwell includes V.Fast / V.FC code
in their modem code.
This has pretty much solved the disconnects
Additionally, we have found that with some of the modems, they will
attempt to train to a modem speed they cannot maintain. Then, during
retrain, will fail, and disconnect. I've seen this especially with one
of my customers using a Zoom modem. It will connect at 50+ Kps, yet will
not maintain that rate. It will usually disconnect within a few minutes.
However, by forcing the modem to NOT connect higher than 47 or 48 Kps, it
will stay connected for days.
Hope this helps.
