Yes, the new 56k boards are mostly/fully DSP based like Livingston as I
understand it though.

This is true, each modem consists of a DSP chip and two little chips to
control it on the other side of the board.

This is true, but they are upgrading to Lucent DSP chips and code in a few
weeks.
