windows xp is horrible to install on a large hard drive (unless you quick
format).  i would take linux over windows in that regard anytime.  i worked
at a native american chamber of commerce and found that when people started
with linux and i tried to put them on a windows machine they would bitch and
complain constantly about windows.  just goes to show you that once you get
comfortable with something it is hard to change.
