Here is a better option for installing Debian with automatic configuration. This is the new beta installer and it uses discover and hotplug to autoconfigure the hardware. http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ Installing Debian is very different from Windows which means it is also very different from RedHat which tries to copy the Windows installer.
