Ok, here are a few things I'd like to inject into this.

There is a cd on the internet called an 8-in-1 Windows XP install disc. It contains multiple versions of windows xp to be installed on a computer. It contains Windows xp pro (oem, upgrade, full, corporate), windows xp home (oem, upgrade, full), windows media center, and some even have some extra utilities. Finding it may not be the easiest but it is out there. Microsoft isn't putting this tool out there, and as usual they are pretty clueless that techs need this.

This allows a tech to attempt a repair install of windows on those compaq, hp, sony etc.. that don't have a "real" xp cd. This prevents me from having to do a restore or a format/install of windows xp. This is especially important for those business clients that can't afford to reinstall and import all their data.

It also allows someone to install a Fresh copy of windows xp onto these machines that have all that crap software. I hate these computers that people buy that has a desktop with 12+ icons on it when they only use m$ word and internet exploder.

Hope this helps.
