I thought they had some specific instructions for doing this, and that
they used some "belkin-only" protocol, so that you couldn't connect
other brands.

As an aside, I found that the Belkin I was lured into buying by a
mondo rebate seems to have very, very bad signal strength.  I've been
wishing I had paid 20 more bucks and bought another linksys.  :-(
