Thats strange. That only means that there is no ALSO sound system in your
kernel, or the kernel module for it is not being loaded.

Did you compile your kernel?

I have been using fluxbox for a long time too, but I never use the opaque windo
moving feature. I think I did before, but havent had any of the problems you
described.

If you installed fluxbox from a binary package, then concider compiling it from
source. I have had problems for some software (like screen) where compiling it
from source would magically solve the problem.
