It all depends on what one is doing.  If one is dealing with 16MB or
larger initrds, 10-15MB may not be enough.  I usually allocate 64MB.
However, I do build a lot of custom kernels, usually with 4MB initrds
though.  Even when the kernels and initrds are gzip'ed they can take up
a lot of space, especially when they multiply like bunnies!  :)
