The following will load the driver for all Adaptec PCI SCSI host
adapters, and the 274x (EISA) and 284x (VLB) SCSI host adapters:

modprobe aic7xxx

There are other drivers for Adaptec SCSI host adapters based on ISA,
PCMCIA, etc.:

modprobe aha152x   <AHA-[1510, 1520, 1522, 2825]>
modprobe aha1542   <Adaptec 1542 (Trantor)>
...
