Thanks Tim and Kent. I'll try pulling sound and a stick of ram (2 x 512MB sticks). However, the sound card and NIC was moved into this machine from my old Athlon 1GHz system and didn't have any problems there. Not sure if you're familiar with Slack installs Tim, but after you install them they are only text. No graphics like RH, Mandrake or SuSe by default. You have to configure X yourself. I've never been able to get Linux to install on this system and it's been bugging me ever since.
