My son has the force feedback and I have the regular.  Both work 
connected via serial or USB.  Force Feedback was not working the
last time we surfed the net looking for it, but it seemed to be
in the works.

I'm not sure I like these huge joysticks though.  I think I want
to get nintendo 64 like joystick and see how that works.
