Greetings all.
I am having a bit of difficulty setting up samba on my Linux-mandrake
8.0 system. Thought maybe some of you would have suggestions. As far
as I can tell all the software and drivers are up and running properly.
The way I have my network configured is as follows. I have dsl running
into the cisco 675 router, which outputs to a hub connecting the
network. There are 3 boxes on the net. 2 are win98 and my linux box.
All the boxes pull down ip's via dhcp from the router over the hub. the
ip's are all in the 10.0.0.* range. Currently I am able to access the
net on my linux box, but can't see the win98 machines. I have tried my
luck at setting up samba with SWAT, to no avail. anything I should be
looking for right off the bat? or anything to check. I have looked
over some how-to's at linuxnewbie, and the standard linux how-to, and it
seems that I am doing everything right. anyhoo, let me know if you have
thoughts.
