Copyright stuff and legal junk

Do we need to put copyright stuff into code we contribute to the
Vanilla project?

The jserv project has a pretty nice (strict) preamble for all code you
contribute. Anything special?

I just want to make sure all the legal crap about "AS IS",  EXPRESSED
OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, blah, blah is in there so my company does not
get any legal problems.

I know this sounds anal, but when you get a legal summons because a
company in Texas is called Real Time Communications and they want your
domain real-time.com and they are willing to sue you for it, you are
hyper-sensitive to legal stuff.
