you need to run 'insmod bsd_comp' and 'insmod ppp_deflate'

I don't know why these seem to be automatically enabled, and I don't
know how to disable them..

Also, make sure you have pppd-2.3.5 -- You may have to add in a line
similar to

#include <asm/types.h>

to one of the files, if it complains about "__u32" being undefined (If
you are compiling)

Look in the /usr/src/linux/Documentation/Changes.txt file
