kernel 2.1.131 and ppp-compress

I just downloaded and compiled kernel 2.1.131. Awesome. Didn't have any
module problems (rh5.1 scripts worked fine), no compile problems, detected
k6 -- I was not prepared with how easy this was. (especially nice since I
did the download and compile via telnet and only had to download the
zImage and the modules on my 28,8)

My problem is with ppp - I compiled with ppp built in to the kernel. When
I try to connect via dialup, it dials and connectes and then says in
/var/log/messages:

Dec 16 21:50:34 localhost pppd[511]: Using interface ppp0
Dec 16 21:50:34 localhost pppd[511]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/modem
Dec 16 21:50:40 localhost pppd[511]: Remote message:
Dec 16 21:50:40 localhost modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-21
Dec 16 21:50:40 localhost modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-24
Dec 16 21:50:41 localhost pppd[511]: ioctl(SIOCADDRT) device route:
Network is down(100)
Dec 16 21:50:41 localhost pppd[511]: Connection terminated.
Dec 16 21:50:42 localhost pppd[511]: Exit.

I don't have a module ppp-compress-21 or 24. What option must I enable to
get this? (In network device support I said yes to ppp, and that's it). I
linked /dev/modem to /dev/ttyS3 instead of /dev/cua3, but that didn't do
anything.
