Re: [TCLUG:23291] ThinkPad modem and sound
It looks like the modem part as been answered. With respect to sound, if you have the full boxed version of SuSE 6.4 you have a copy of OSS (Fully licensed). Its in the 'pay' group. The package name should be ospo (or opso I can't remember.) I used version 6.2 on a couple of Laptops and it worked on both of them. I'm running SuSE 7.0 on a MB with integrated sound and OSS works where ALSA would not.
