RE: [TCLUG:22757] Raid and other storage stories



Too bad there's nothing like the Veritas Volume manager for Linux.  You can
do all sorts of RAID reconfiguations, all with the system still up and
processing data.  We have 2 Sun A5100 fiber channel storage arrays with 14
disks each, and I was reconfiguring them a whole bunch of different ways to
figure out what had the best performance.  The whole time, the database on
it was still up and processing data, although slowly sometimes.

I wish you could add and remove drives from an array easier than having to
find a bunch of temp space and moving data!

I have 2 20 gig drives in RAID 0 and I want to add a 3rd. Annoying.
