Re: [TCLUG:17351] cable modems again
I dare say you are probably not a power user (in my sense of the word). I
am connected to my home PC from work ALL day and I am constantly dicking
around with it the rest of the day at home. If it goes down for any two
minute period - I have a decent chance of knowing about it.
Latency IS a problem - well known and documented in this forum and many
others. It is not a 24x7 problem - but it is about a 6x7 problem or so.
Packet loss probably depends on how many users are on your node. My brother
is in Still water and he has nothing but trouble. They just lost the entire
node a couple of weeks ago and apparently had to swap some hardware (I am
not sure of the internal details).
MediaOne + phone service = I hope you have cell phone if you have a medical
history.
