On a similar Exchange horror story note...
Every company I know that has an Exchange server has horrible
problems with volume. Recently, a friend who works at Net Perceptions,
which produces a 'customized spam' product used their Exchange e-mail
server to test it, and crashed it badly.
Visi, being an ISP, has a pretty huge volume of e-mail going
through their systems. I've only once or twice in my 2-3 years of being
their customer have ever seen their e-mail server crash, and I think
both times were hardware related.
At the company I currently work for, we have our e-mail server
seemingly crash about once every two months. The crash usually seems
volume related.
I can't say anything positive or negative about OpenMail because
I don't know anybody who uses it, and have never used it myself.
I can tell you that 'qmail' is incredibly light and fast, and
very secure. :-) It's what I use to run all my e-mail. I don't have
much volume, but I know people who've ran ISP e-mail servers off of
486's using it.
Have fun (if at all possible),
