AFAIK, the problem with "click death" was an unexplained manufacturing
problem that happened sometime back.  It's just drives from a certain
period that suffer from that problem.  The nice thing about "click death" is
that Iomega will replace any Zip drive suffering from it no questions asked.
I know of more than one person that has called Iomega to get their drive
replaced in this fashion (and they didn't click!)

But anyways, I have 2 SCSI [external] Zip drives (and I only use one), so if 
anybody would be interested in purchasing one, just send me an e-mail.  I
mostly use CD-RW for backup, these days, anyways.  I hope somebody
the UDF support gets to the point where we can get something like Adaptec
DirectCD (but a solution that works), so that I can write to CD-RW just like 
any
normal block device.
