My box actually crashed!
It's the oddest thing. I was playing the latest update to Civ:
CTP, and it froze. The only external odd thing besides the fact that it
was frozen was that my SCSI CDROM (connected via an Adaptec 1542C) light
was blinking in a steady pattern, as if it were being reset. Of course,
it continued for way longer than it should've. In fact, it continued
until I hit the reset button. There was nothing in the logs to indicate
what went wrong. In fact, the last log entry before the reboot is an
hour previous.
I don't have an extra computer, so I couldn't telnet into the
box to find out if it was alive that way.
I've had this problem much more frequently under Windows while
playing games that access the CDROM drive. The drive will act like it's
doing a reset, and either the game will crash, or everything will
freeze. The CDROM light usually stops blinking eventually though.
Hmmm...
Anybody have any idea what might be wrong?
Thanks,
